Fibaro, creators of the Door Window Sensor 2, recently announced a new smart sensor.
With this new certified smart sensor, the CO Sensor, users are able to detect a colorless, odorless, and tasteless toxic gas – carbon monoxide.
When included in a smart home, the CO Sensor will continuously monitor carbon monoxide levels.
In addition to detecting carbon monoxide, a built-in temperature sensor allows the tracking of temperature throughout a home.
When used in conjunction with other smart devices, this feature allows for the adjusting of heating or air conditioning units. You can even use this feature to detect sudden increases in temperature to provide more insight into where fires started.
The CO Sensor has an audible alarm to immediately notify residents if the CO reaches threatening levels. The device can be used as a stand-alone monitor. It operates with a battery, so does not require power connection to save a home, even if there is a power outage.
The LED light on the CO Sensor is able to flash different colors. It can notify the presence of danger, the sensor’s mode, or the battery level of the sensor.
The sensor also has three separate statuses to display the different levels of carbon monoxide:
The sensor provides graphs with the carbon monoxide levels. The sensor saves the data surrounding a user’s carbon monoxide levels? The user can access the archived at any time.
Just like other Fibaro devices, owners can access their CO Sensor through the Fibaro app or through the HomeKit integration.
