We were very excited when Nitetronic contacted us about their new pillow. Nitetronic, created in 2011 by German engineers, provides the Patented Goodnite™ Anti-Snore Pillow. Goodnite™ has been shown to reduce snoring on average of 65-85% per night. It can also reduce the volume of snoring up to 80%. A perfect example of how smart products can improve your sleep quality and protect your health.
The pillow is equipped with sound and vibration sensors, that monitor the user’s breathing sounds. When it detects snoring, the pillow’s air chambers inflate to gently turn the head automatically.
When the head is turned to the side, the gap between the tongue and the throat increases. This “stops the vibration of the soft tissues in the upper airways and reduces the snoring sound as well as allows better breathing“, according to Nitetronic.
After a certain time period the air chambers deflate.
Goodnite™’s users are overall very satisfied by the product. The pillow reduces their snoring and improves their sleep. Here is an example of the average snoring reduction for a Nitetronic tester:
The Anti-Snore Pillow’s box contains a user guide, the power adapter and the Queen Size Pillow (24″ x 14.5″ x 3″).
You can remove the inner core of the pillow case to wash the case. When putting back the inner core, the side with the foam should be faced up.
Download the NiteLink2 app available on iOS and Android. The pillow uses Bluetooth to synchronize with the app.
Here is an overview of the NiteLink2 app:
When you first open the app, you can connect your pillow. Select “Remember” to remember the pillow.
You first need to activate the Bluetooth on your smartphone. Your pillow is connecting to the app.
On the main screen, you get an overview of your last night’s sleep. You can keep track of your year’s sleep, compare data, …
The app gives you a snoring percentage of your sleep. The time spent snoring will be categorized into Severe, Moderate to severe, Moderate, Light or Very Light snoring.
Nitetronic is releasing a new version of the pillow at the end of this week. Its new features will be: sending sleep data by email, self-testing and simplified user interface.
While it can be hard adjusting to a new pillow, Goodnite™ is quite comfortable. At first sight, the pillow and its central unit seemed larger than we thought, the central unit itself being heavy. While testing the pillow we loved the gentle inflation system. The air chambers inflate slowly, without producing any noise. Just be aware that if you sleep on your side, the inner part of the pillow is a bit hard and can cause a little discomfort.
The app itself was very user-friendly and easy to use. It conveniently lets you keep track of your sleep’s health while providing very accurate information.
