A recent tech announcement has introduced the world to a new smart home controller:
the Amazon Echo Show.
The Show’s screen lets users browse the internet and even watch YouTube videos – tasks that weren’t possible with the Echo. In the announcement, Amazon showcased a feature called Drop-In that lets users make audio and video calls.
Dolby technology, a San Francisco-based audio engineering firm, worked with Amazon on the Show’s speakers and eight microphones. Owners will be able to stream music through Pandora, Spotify, TuneIn, and iHearRadio.
And of course – the Amazon Echo Show has a built-in integration with Amazon. As a result, owners will be able to make Amazon purchases just like with Echo. Integrations with other Amazon services enable the Show to display pictures from Prime Photos and when playing songs from Amazon Music, show the lyrics.
The Show is currently available for pre-order in the US only and is shipping on June 28th.
