When we were at the CES 2017, we couldn’t miss Shadecraft‘s stand, with its outstanding presentation of the Sunflower. Sunflower is an autonomous robotic shade or umbrella that you can place outdoors. Expected for this summer, the shade will contain an incredible number of technologies.
The shade tracks the sun to collect solar energy and adjusts itself to keep you in the shade. Sunflower is solar-powered and uses reserve batteries to store the additional electric charge. Its batteries have a 72 hours autonomy.
Sunflower also has a USB connection, allowing you to charge mobile devices while under the umbrella.
Connectivity & Audio
It is compatible Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and will come with an optional cellular data connectivity. Shadecraft will launch the app on iOS first. The Android app will be available in 2018. You will be able to control Sunflower from inside your home.
The shade also has AI integration and can be controlled with voice command, thanks to embedded microphone and speaker system. With its speakers, you can also stream music from your smartphone or tablet. Listen to music or an audio book while resting under Sunflower.
With its multiple sensors, the device can measure the humidity, the air quality or the temperature. Its wind sensors will allow the shade to close during strong winds.
The shade has 2 integrated cameras, allowing you to expand your home security system. With its capacity to rotate, the shade provides a 360° video angle.
