If you have a SmartThings hub and at least a sensor (motion, multipurpose or water leak), you can monitor your home’s temperature. The app can notify you when your home is too warm or too cold. Here is how to do it with the SmartThings app:
On the SmartThings app
In the Smart Home Monitor section, tap on the icon at the top right corner (Settings).
In the list, select New Monitoring Rule.
Tap on “What kind of device do you want to use?“. Select Temperature Sensor. Tap on Done.
Tap on Select Temperature Sensors.
Select the sensor you want to use: here we selected the motion sensor, then tap on Done.
Set the minimum and maximum temperatures you want to monitor. Tap on “Temperature is less than or equal to” and enter the number. Tap on “Temperature is greater than or equal to” and enter the number. Select Next.
Select how you want to be notified of an intrusion. Here we have selected “Text & Push notifications” and “Send push notifications“. Tap on Done. Tap on Next.
In this section, you can change the name of the rule. Tap on Done.
