Have you heard about Zac? It is a home automation hub in the shape of a cute little raccoon butler. You can control the hub with your voice to set your bedroom’s temperature or open your blinds. This could be the next Amazon Echo.
Unlike the famous Siri, Alexa or Google, you can actually see your home assistant. The hologram is displayed on your smartphone or on the hub itself, reacting to your orders.
The hub covers a large amount of protocoles: Z-Wave, Zigbee, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, making it compatible with many smart products. This assistant works among others with Philips Hue, Fibaro, Withings and Netatmo.
As a smart hub, Zac lets you create scenes (for example when you leave home, Zac can activate the security camera, and simulate the presence of occupants). It will also help you save energy by showing your devices’ consumption and an estimation of your energy bill.
What Zac can do
Created by the French start up Vivoka, Zac will be available in French and English. Early birds can get it for $275 on Kickstarter. The hub will be shipping in May 2017 for $375.
